Oh, the tooth fairy years are arriving, we know about it! That exciting time when your little one starts losing their baby teeth and the magic of the tooth fairy comes into your home. It’s a milestone we all eagerly await, but let’s be honest, it can also be a bit chaotic, especially for busy parents like us.
Between work, after-school activities, dinner to make, and a million other things on our to-do lists, finding the time to maintain the Tooth Fairy tradition can feel overwhelming some days. But fear not, fellow parents! We’re here to share some of our best tips and tricks for making the Tooth Fairy years easy, affordable, and oh-so-magical too.
Being prepared
First and foremost, let’s talk about being prepared. We are overwhelmed with lots of stuff. Let’s not stress about this, with a little advance planning we will save your sanity during these moments. There are lots of ways to receive the Tooth Fairy at your home. It will depend on you on how it will arrive. There are many options.
Traditional Tooth Fairy
The traditional Tooth Fairy is the classical tradition that we know. The lost tooth is left by the kid under the pillow. The next day, it magically disappears and money is left by the Tooth Fairy.
Basically, we grew up with this tradition. It’s simple and familiar. You can do it at any place, during vacations or being at home. It’s easy and fast. But, to be realistic, some kids are afraid of someone or something coming over their bed, under their pillow. Also, for parents if the kids are easy to wake up, moving them to take that tiny teeth could be a little bit complicated.
Creative Tooth Fairy
There are different ways to make the Tooth Fairy tradition easy for you. The only secret is to plan it ahead and be prepared. If we go through the idea that the Tooth Fairy is a magic fairy and that our kids will be full of questions about her, why not start answering them? Here are some examples:
- Where does the Tooth Fairy live?
- How does the Tooth Fairy know when I lose a tooth?
- How did she come over home?
- How does the Tooth Fairy know where is my teeth?
- What does the Tooth Fairy do with all the teeth she collects?
- How does the Tooth Fairy get inside the house?
In order to answer some of these questions, parents have come up with lot’s of new ideas. Here are a few:
Tooth Fairy Jar or Box
Let’s create a small decorated jar or box where kids can place their lost tooth. This way, the Tooth Fairy has a special spot to find it. You can add a little sparkle to the box with glitter, sequins, or fairy stickers for a magical touch.
Tooth Fairy Pouch
For this option, you can use a small pouch or bag (you can even sew one together) where kids can leave their tooth. It can be hung on the bedpost or placed next to the bed, making it easy for the Tooth Fairy to find and swap with a treat.
Tooth Fairy Door
Set up a small “Fairy Door” on the wall, which becomes the Tooth Fairy’s special entrance to the room. Kids can place their tooth in front of the door, imagining that she’ll step through it to collect it. Some parents even leave tiny “fairy footprints” near the door for extra magic.
Here at The Tooth Fairy World, we offer the most Enchanted Tooth Fairy Set that includes everything you need (sorry, not sorry, but we love it!).
Fairy Garden
In this case, you can create a fairy garden (real or mini), kids can leave their tooth there. They can plant it in a small pot, imagining that the Tooth Fairy will come pick it up. Fairy gardens can have little houses, fairy furniture, or tiny plants for a whimsical touch.
Tooth Fairy Mailbox
Craft a tiny “mailbox” that kids can use to “mail” their lost tooth to the Tooth Fairy. This mailbox can stay on a nightstand or be hung in the room. Kids can leave little letters for the Tooth Fairy along with the tooth, and maybe find a tiny note in return!
Magical Tooth Fairy Lantern
Decorate a little lantern or jar with fairy lights, and place it by the bed when a tooth is lost. The glowing lantern acts as a beacon for the Tooth Fairy. The lantern light can be turned on when a tooth is ready for pickup, signaling the Tooth Fairy to stop by.
Tooth Fairy Letters or Notes
The letters that came from the Tooth Fairy are full of magic on it. Kids love receiving them. When this letters are special for them, with information about themself, you’ll see how their eyes light up as they read them (or you read it to them). We’ve created an editable file, super easy to personalize. Also, we have a guide of ideas to personalized these letters.
Different way of do the Tooth Fairy appearence
To summarize, the idea is to pick the option that works for your and your kids. The Tooth Fairy stage is as magical as Christmas. It’s an opportunity to keep our kids imagination and dreams alive.
For us, when our first daughter lost her first teeth, she was really afraid of having visit during the night so close to her. So we started to create this new tradition and it was getting better with each teeth. We decided to leave the teeth in a little jar close to the door. In consequence, the Tooth Fairy will find it easily. And for us, it was so simple to change the teeth for the money!
Over time, we realized how cute it would be to offer a Tooth Fairy Set for parents who want to give their kids a unique experience while making it easy for busy parents who already have so much on their minds. This is a simple way to open up a new and magical world.
